The online mapping tool has been created using Ku-ring-gai Council maps and is designed to identify if your property is designated as bush fire prone or in a mapped flood area. Bush fire prone land maps are certified by the NSW Rural Fire Service and are periodically updated.

Use of the information provided by the Ready Check is at your sole risk. You should obtain further advice if you are uncertain about how any of the information provided by the Ready Check applies to you or your property.

Ku-ring-gai Council, the Local Emergency Management Committee and their employees and agents:

  1. make no representations, express or implied, as to the accuracy, reliability or currency of the Ready Check tool or the information and data provided in connection with the Tool on this or any linked site; and
  2. do not accept any responsibility or liability (including, without any limitation, liability for negligence) for any loss, damage, cost or expense you might incur whether directly or indirectly as a result of your use of or reliance on the Tool or the information and data provided in connection with the Tool on this or any linked site.

The outcome of your search is only valid for the day of the enquiry is made. Bush fire prone land maps are legislatively required to be updated periodically. As new maps are certified by the NSW RFS they are updated on this mapping tool and circumstances do change. To confirm whether the lot is bush fire prone, you can check on the 149 (2)(5) Certificate which can be obtained from Ku-ring-gai Council.

The Tool does not provide an assessment of the bush fire, flood, storm, heatwave or any other extreme weather risk you may face on your property.
